Its all a long waited acknowledgement from the local most outstanding and prestige University which stands to the test of time. National University of Singapore had sent me a surprise parcel that comes in a brown papered envelop, thick enough to hide a double cheese burger. Exaggerating of course.
Even before I attempts to open it up, I expected it to be an acceptance letters. Not being complacent here but more or less I reckon that they wouldn't be bother to send out a thick parcel just to inform you that you had been rejected, along with some freebies or coupons to lighten up your spirit. That will be stupid and not their style. A oldest school in Singapore are of attitude. Never hear them say YES, you have to take its as a NO.
Happily opens the package.
WHAT!!!! I had been offered into Environmental Engineering. That's was a shock for me. I never see that coming. A course that contain 90% AAA/A or GPA 3.9 equivalent had wanted me in their course. Its a double edged sword. I couldn't decide.
Why Environment Eng?
Civil is dry and energy draining. All boy course. Furthermore it also helps me in my future bond with Sembcorp Utilities (Water/Energy recycling) related. My favorite part is the opportunity to speak more English. Or force to speak more. Most importantly, my Nemesis wouldn't choose this course which is a intellectual challenging choice. Oh, yes. This is an insulting statement. Facesmack.
Why not Environment Eng?
Being at the 10 percentile group. One can't help but to feel the pressure. Lots of catching up to do plus my bad experience with geek that had no life, always indulge themselves 24/7 to projects. Mundane lifestyle all over again.
Career prospect for Env. Eng. Rock bottom! I can't believe the result for employment rate, bottom of the list with a huge gap. EWT student be wary. Not only the market appeal is small, they pay slavery. They studied their shit off the course, constantly under pressure and competition. Earning them in a position to earn the least among all engineering peers. A daily wanking dude from civil course earns much much more. It amuses me. LOL
Should I accept the offer to (Bachelor of Engineering) Environmental Engineering?
