Geocities is closing down

Recession recession, can you feel it?

Well, Yahoo certainly do. Cause they are removing their services. One by one, acting all discreet like no one will suspect they are also victim of economy downfall.

Firstly, they removed Yahoo! Auction. One very useful service, where I can find lots of good deal. Though their rules were a bit loose compared to Ebay. A lot of shadow seller or junk advertisement, but I know my way around to make the best out of the service. Always manage to find wide range of cheap product.


Early this year, if I remember correctly, they say that they were going to suspend this service because they want the money saved up to provide better service for other services. I really disappointed with the decision to shutting Yahoo Auction down.

I had to resort to using Ebay which provides very tight security. Ebay's strong point is also it's weakness. Due to onerous procedure and the fact that you had to provide credit card number to them on security reason, this alone scared a lot of customer away. Hence, you don't find range of product like Yahoo Auctions.

Speaking back to Yahoo, I just received their mail about suspension to another 2 services. Yahoo Geocities and 360 degree. Geocities is a free web hosting providing server support to people who wish to build their own website and 360 I reckon its a blog service. I didn't use 360 so it doesn't affect me. But I do use Geocities and althought their pop advisement on my webpage, I am greatful that they had hosted my ever first website in 2003. I got feeling for the website de okie.

This is the first webpage that I builded off some webpage template where I upload and host my gallery. In 2003, you don't have serivce like photobucket to host you picture, now you are uploading like breeze, I used to html code each picture that I uploaded to make sure that they display properly and then link them from thumbnail to actual size, hell lots of work to be done. But I am also proud of what I had acheived then.

Then followed by first blog I created in 2003 on "Diaryland". This time, I coded the HTML and that's my first webpage that host my blog. Now we have blogger which makes updating blog a breeze. I used embed midi player to play background music, now you can have song streaming on blog just by adding widget. Last time was a tedious process. And then like now you got tagboard or comments box, last time I used to have "guestbook" where people can leave down some comments for you.

Soon this 2 webpage will be gone for good.

Beside yahoo, what are the service that I am septical about. That will be twitter. There are news saying that they had been suffering from a lost and they can prove no way in generating profit from. Soon, their fund will be exhausted then they will be forced to shut down. Even robust service like youtube.com which had been brought over by google had confirmed that they are still not making any profit from the service.

Any service that we are using were hosted by a server, someone is going to pay for the widthband that we are using. So it may fail, service down or even removed without a given reasons. Maybe one day blogger might suffer a same fate? Then what about all the blog post? To me any information you put on a server may or may not disappear. But that is still a possibility.

Meanwhile I need to find somewhere to transfer my old stuff away before they suspend and delete all my stuff online. Hai~

XX changed blogskin inspires me

Not until Lorjean informed me, I never know XX changed her blog skins. Now with all the girly girly stuff going on there, pinkish pinkish and dick VS vick (purposely spell wrongly) all about XX for life. Its super no life watching her blog already. Anyway, her design was better than the previous one, however some of her picture looked dreadfully blondy. But still, she had inspired me to "upgrade" my blog skin. Using default skin for the time being.

Anyway, I had an insomnia yesterday night, probably due to all the late night over the weekend. My weekend wasn't awesome but wasn't bad either. Went to critic food again, and I start feeling like a spendthrift already. Too much money had been spent impulsively over unavailing items. This kind of mentality must stop already.

Australian had been bashing Indian over at Melburne. Will they bash up the chinese?? I got a feeling that chinese are invading them slowly like how China Republic Citizen had been invading us slowly. More and more Singaporeans are migrating to Australia, so probably they already see us pain in the neck. Why must all my trip ends like that sia. Thailand trip that time was cancelled also. Now H1N1 virus in Australia is on the rise. Currency had growing bigger for them, smaller for us, so is there anything to devastate me somemore?

Anyway, visa approved but lodging had not been settled yet. Tired to do anything...

Don't panic if you see my links are gone. Currently doing some modification on my blog and if you have noticed, my tagboard and links are gone. Of course they are gone for a reason. A reason too harsh to for me to face.

Reason for removal of link was that I got remarks saying that they had been expecting high traffic flow from my site, obviously some people uses my link as a "terminal" to stalk other people blog. I don't like the feeling of being used to the extend that I felt people visited my blog just to click to other people's link. Like bus interchange. So links are gone for good.

Regarding tagboard.... It just gives me the feeling that I am so unpopular. Or no people bother to tag a comment because I had been blogging nonsense. It had been there for so long and remained as clam as a meditating monk. Tag board gone as well.

Nuffnang was the worst. The pathetic $7.30 since like don't know when. They had assigned my site and thought that I am no way capable in helping them promoting their advertisment. So no more ad since so long. So they are go went gone.

Now my blog is a blog. A single entry plus, archive and search box. Don't bother to try words like "fuck", "sex" or "Gary Ng scandal pic" (gary ng not refering to me, you know if you read news). They not going to show results. It had parential programme running. It send you virus if you search that.


Happily, I managed to "squeeze" into last semester book prize. I really did poorly compared to other semester and I am disappointed myself. IAP attachment in Changi Newater Plant had made myself becoming very lazy and unmotivated. I don't know if I can get a good grade for IAP or not. Some more, my SO aren't in much of a good term with me. That's so far the updates for my last week, really ain't anything interesting to brag about.

Enough said. Today Sunday went outing with a few good friends. Went recci the Yew Tee Point. Eat and talk crap, took some photo on N6220. I hope you enjoy the graphic :)

Finally the art is here

Some of you may be guessing if I am going to lock up my blog. Sort of I guess. For me to better concentrate during exam period or give me time before I organize my new blog before I officially publish it online.

Some of my friend told me that my bear brick design was a little bit kiddy, so I decided to create a neater layout. Color scheme I choose black cause it is the safest color.

The only major chances will be my links. I create thumbnail for preview purposes. Well, if you wondering why did your picture appear. Reason being that I went to each of my links and chose the nicest picture of it and ripped it off. Since they were already published, so I don't think any of them were sensitive for me to hyperlink it. Although, I didn't ask for permission to do so. But I did put reference loh. But nonetheless if anyone of you for some reasons think that you are not comfortable with me linking up your picture, tag me and I will remove them. :)

So say goodbye to bear brick because "finally the art is here"..

I am the author of this blog, obviously. I blog because initially, I wanna to write something like a diary so I can reminiscence it in the future. I started to be a little bit more passive when I was in poly. Everyone is blogging and XiaXue and Kennysia grew famous at this period, so naturally, I thought I might possibly get famous someday. Which wasn't really going to happen from what I got for my traffic.

I designed and maintenance this blog, 100% hand written script because I like to do web designing. I am not a designer non can called a freelance, only to fulfill the kick to do webpage. I had not really graphic training or soft skill no designing just all "trial and error". If you like the design, you can steal, cheat or hijack my codes. I don't really mind.

Other than blog itself, I sometime help people to maintenance their website or design blogskin, provided that I had the time. You may want to take a look at some of my work.
