"Diana Krall, a multi-Grammy winner and the world’s best selling female jazz artist with over 13 million albums sold, kicks off her Asian Tour 2008 in Singapore, with tickets going as fast as the FORMULA ONE™ cars."
Due to the formula one race today, the concert had to change venue from an indoor concert to an outdoor concert. I was hired as a usher to help them crowd control. Job scope simply just direct the patron to their seat and to the rest room. The ambient combines elegant classical jazz with sluggish "ge tai" finish.
The Fort Canning at night is beautiful
But don't you think it looks like "ge tai" during seventh month??
A lot of audience complained about why suddenly change the location to open air? And they had to sit on plastic chair squeezing with the people around them. The air was humid and anyone is sweating like fuck. Somemore you know how expensive these ticket worth or not? Front $250 / cheapest $175... OMG.. some still need to sit on uneven slope in an awkward posture. We received a lot of complain from the Caucasian while we usher them in.
And the pay fucking good. They promised $28 for the whole night from 5-9pm. Then I brought a $7 blended coffee, which took an hour of my labour off already. Nabei, still want us to help arrange the chair for them. We are fucking usher not bangali. But then, we got to enjoy the concert while other pay from the entrance ticket. At least something :)
