Melbourne CBD Tour

Melbourne is a great city, I realized yesterday. Requested to take an unofficial off on Friday, reason was because we will very obedient at work, complete task therefore we deserve an off day. That was what we told each of our immediate supervisors. They seems very open with our request, approved without much resistant.

Took a long 2 hour train ride to Melbourne from Bendigo, paying 30AUD plus for return tickets. Expensive.

The tall building is "Eureka Tower" tallest residential building in the region. 300m from ground

Melbourne is totally different from our "dead town" Bendigo. Even smelt differently. Like one big overcrowding city with well mix people from around the world. We travel by foot the whole day, trying to stay within radius of the CBD, hmm maybe 2km radius. We saw many ethnic races like Chinese, Hongkie, Malaysian, Japanese, Korean, African, Caucasian and of course Australian.

Shopping center were abundant in Melbourne, too much to we were lost on where we suppose to start. Much like Paragon shopping mall, very much on selling professional stuff or branded goods, so as usual I didn't buy anything cause I am on a budget. But all in all, I spent roughly 100AUD plus yesterday, all on food and drinks. They were really really pricey. Each meal had to spent like 20AUD.

Great Night Scenery

Some people though I went missing since I am not online and also not updating my blog. So tala, This is an update for the whole week :)

Working is boring here, at least at Sembcorp I can surf internet all days, go ebay buying and selling handphone, talk crap with the Engineers. Now Australian people have all their own inside joke, which I don't understand. And speaking to them is tedious for me, they had a hard time understanding my cheena english.

I quote the sentence they using almost 90% of the time when they see you:

Aust 1: Hi, good day mate (pronoun as mike). How your day?

Aust 2: Not too bad I guess

Aust 1: That's great

The problem is that like they were really concern with your day, and they will be asking you the same thing, therefore you wouldn't bother to tell him you have a bad day even you really having a bad day. 10 persons walking pass you and you see how much of a time is lost.

But beside the culture a bit different, my company's workers are all very helpful and friendly.. So is great working there, but I try not to talk too much, I have to speak really slowly and careful making sure I don't mix some Singlish into it. But sometime I felt that the way I structure my sentence is weird. I already started to read story books and newspaper, but still haven shown significant improvement. Hard to pick up language at my age.

Comments

  1. Is trying not to talk too much considered as avoiding?

Someone once told me not to avoid, but to face it. Just like presentations.

Changi NEWater plant opened

SINGAPORE : Singapore’s largest and most advanced water reclamation plant — the Changi Water Reclamation Plant — will open next week. The pumping station at the new Changi Water Reclamation Plant is as high as a 25—storey building. The station collects all used water from the deep sewerage tunnels via gravity. The water then undergoes a treatment process at the plant before being discharged into the sea. Part of that treated water will be processed into NEWater when the NEWater plant, which is being built on the rooftop of treatment facilities, is ready. The NEWater factory which will be operational by May next year can produce 50 million gallons of treated water daily. This is equivalent to the volume of water in 90 Olympic—sized swimming pools. PUB said the Changi Water Reclamation plant stands out in its land use. "The designers have incorporated a space saving design concept — things like stack treatment tanks and also stack treatment facilities like our sludge treatment facil

Is finnciti a scam? a layman perspective

Recently, thru a friend introduced me a platform finnciti (previously known as smicap) where you can multiple your investment in folds. The return as per quoted is up to 100% just by holding your investment on hand. I was skeptical and interested at the same time so I went online to do a little research on my own. It is not difficult to return result by just searching: "Is finnciti a scam" or "Is smicap a scam". Reviews were in mixed bag. Some mention that they earned big bucks and its a platform for normal people to get richer while some other point out some resemblance of a scam structure and therefore classified finnciti as a scam platform. I am a layman using basic logic to analyst the concept and by no mean I am advising to invest or against it. But in my humble opinion, ALL INVESTMENT POSSESSES RISK AND PLEASE BE PRUDENT WHEN DOING ANY KINDS INVESTMENT AND ONLY INVEST IN YOUR MONEY THAT YOU CAN BEAR LOSING .
